Sant Nirankari Mission Celebrates Mukti Parv Samagam

On August 15, 2017, while the nation celebrated the 70th Independence Day of the country, the Sant Nirankari Mission observed the day as Mukti Parv or the Salvation Day. It sought to give the message to the people that while physical liberation from foreign rule is necessary for our material progress, the liberation of soul from the bondage of transmigration is equally essential for happiness here and hereafter.

The Mission believes that even our material gains remain threatened by the evil designs of ego, selfishness, jealousy, hatred and violence unless and until accompanied by human values like love, compassion, cooperation and the spirit of sacrifice.

While the nation paid tributes to those who fought for the freedom of the country from the alien rule, the Sant Nirankari Mission remembered its Spiritual Masters Shahenshah Baba Avtar Singh Ji, Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji and Baba Hardev Singh Ji as also the great devotees including Jagatmata Budhwanti Ji, Rajmata Kulwant Kaur Ji and a host of others who received Brahmgyan and preached the same till the last breath of their life.

The main Mukti Parv Samagam was held in Delhi in the holy presence of Nirankari Satguru Mata Savinder Hardev Ji Maharaj. Thousands of devotees from Delhi, Greater Delhi and several other parts of the country were present.

Addressing the participants, Her Holiness said:

“Saints, we have assembled here today on the occasion of Mukti Parv where we were listening to the words of saints and taking inspiration from the same. Saints, it was on this day that Jagatmata Ji left their physical form. She was an embodiment of love, humility and the spirit of sacrifice. She showered her love on all in plenty.

Saints, we are all familiar with the life of Shahenshah Ji also. He salvaged many lives and what is a devotee and what should be his life like, he showed us through his own practical life first as a disciple of Baba Buta Singh Ji and then during the time of Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji.

Saints, we are familiar with Rajmata Ji’s life since childhood. Right from beginning she had the spirit of devotion and love and respect for all. Baba Ji himself described Rajmata Ji’s life as embodiment of Shahenshah Ji’s Mission. She maintained every relationship successfully, but she gave first priority to the Guru’s relation.

Saints, are we also following the teachings of our saints of the past, or we are getting influenced by what others say and our devotion start shaking? Are we not feeling shaky and changing every moment? Are we getting misguided by others and distancing from the congregation? Saints, what to say of the people? They criticize us when we laugh, and when we weep, they say it has become our habit. We have just not to go by what they say.

You might have often heard the example while attending congregations that a father and son had a donkey. As they were going to a place, the father asked the son to ride the donkey while he himself led the animal walking in front. Somebody saw them and commented that the son did not have any regard for the age of his father and riding himself the donkey while the latter was walking on foot. At this the son get down and asked his father to ride the donkey. They had not gone very far when somebody saw them and said that the father was not caring for the tender age of the son and riding the donkey, compelling the boy to go on foot. As they heard this, both of them sat on the back of the donkey.

As they moved, somebody saw them and commented that they had no sympathy for the animal and both of them were loading it with their heavy weight. Now both of them got down and started walking in front of the donkey, leading it by the string. Now people started laughing that they were walking on foot and taking no advantage of the animal.

Saints, devotees are never carried by such comments. They always pray to God to keep them under His divine control so that they are not able to harm anybody even if they think so. No doubt when we are misguided by others we also start trying to harm others. Just as Bekal Ji said – In order to take revenge from others, we burn our own house thinking that it belongs to the latter.

Saints, you just heard the example of the fish that move in a small radius of a Jar. Even when they are put into the ocean, they fail to go deep and enjoy. Saints, on the other side when another fish is put into the ocean, it misuses its freedom, goes beyond the ocean’s boundary and we know the harm it does to itself by touching the surface.

Saints, we have to look at ourselves and see whether we are doing Sewa, Sumiran, Satsang like our elders in the past or according to our own convenience. Saints, you just heard the discourse by Baba Ji saying – O’ God give me the freedom to stay in your prison. Let us also pray for similar control so that our faith does not get shaken and we continue to take the Mission forward while remaining under His control.”

Earlier, the audience was shown the video recording of a discourse by Baba Hardev Singh Ji on one of the Mukti Parv Samagams during his time. There also Baba Ji exhorted the devotees to take full advantage of spiritual enlightenment in their life and remain above all the negative feeling of ego, narrow-mindedness, discrimination, hatred and exploitation.

During the Samagam Her Holiness Satguru Mata Savinder Hardev Ji Maharaj was presented the ‘Service to Humanity’ Award for 2017 granted by Life Chiropractic College West to the Sant Nirankari Mission for its humanitarian and social welfare efforts across the globe. The award was presented to Her Holiness by Rev (Brig) PS Cheema Ji, Member Incharge, Health and Social Welfare Department of the Sant Nirankari Mandal who had received the same on behalf of Satugu Mata Ji at the Life West’s Annual Chiropractic Conference on August 4, 2017 in San Francisco, California, USA.
