Manav Ekta Divas Samagam April 24, 2017

On April 24, 2017, the Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation organized 76 blood donation camps throughout the country. The main camp in Delhi that marked the beginning of the series was inaugurated by Nirankari Satguru Mata Savinder Hardev Ji Maharaj with a call to the devotees of the Mission to make blood relation through blood donation.

These blood donation camps coincide with the Manav Ekta Divas celebrated by Sant Nirankari Mission to commemorate the supreme sacrifice of Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji who laid down his life on this day in 1980 while crusading for truth, love, peace and unity in the world. Tributes are also paid by the Mission to hundreds of devotees who too sacrificed their lives for this noble cause.

Satguru Mata Savinder Hardev Ji Maharaj said, “Circulation of blood is very important for every human being to remain healthy. If there is any blockage in the circulation of the blood in our body, we go to a doctor and receive medical treatment. There is, however, another blood circulation which is in our own hands. It is when we donate blood to circulate in the body of a patient. And in this Mission of Oneness, it becomes another expression of love and we make blood relation through blood donation. Ever since 1986 when Baba Ji gave a slogan that ‘blood should flow in veins and not in drains’, the Mission has donated lakhs of units of blood not only in India but globally”.

In Delhi, 1524 devotees of the Mission from Delhi and outside donated their blood. The blood collecting teams came from Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, Dr. Hedgewar, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia, Safdarjung Hospital, G.B. Pant, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar, Kasturba Gandhi, Sucheta Kriplani, Bara Hindu Rao, LNJP Hospital, Indian Red Cross Society, Armed Forces Transfusion Centre and AIIMS - CNC. The Indian Red Cross Society led by its Director Dr. Vanishree, coordinated.

Speaking on the occasion Brig. P.S. Cheema, Member Incharge Health and Social Welfare Department and Member of Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation said that devotees of the Mission come forward to donate their blood with the spirit of devotion on this historic day. He said that ever since the blood donation drive started in1986, the Mission has organized 5046 blood donation camps and donated 8,69,161 units of blood so far.
