Three Practical Responsibilities

Satsang - Congregation

Literally translated, Satsang means ‘joining in truth’. It is the engagement with fellow devotees in regular, collective worship of God.

The company of like-minded individuals helps to deepen one’s understanding of the Knowledge, and the application of the Five Pledges in life. Congregations within the Mission are refreshing affairs conducted in an open forum, consisting of spiritual song, uplifting poetry and inspirational talks upon God and noble living. Men, women and children from all walks of life share their spiritual experiences with one another.

Seva – Self-less Service

Self less service can take many forms, primarily including actions for the benefit of fellow beings conducted with humility without the desire for reward or recognition. Within the enlightened state attained from the Satguru self-less service may be carried out through a variety of forms including engaging in the preparation of community meals, charitable donations for the needy or the donation of blood for the sick and injured. Self less service should be combined with good intention in order to be conducted within the Satguru’s teachings.

Simran - Remembrance

Simran is the act of remembrance of God by way of a simple prayer:

“Toon Hi Nirankar
Main Teri Sharan Haan
Mainoon Bakhsh Lao”

“Thou art the one and only one,
Oh formless Lord
I am in thy refuge
Please shower me with thy grace.”

Recital of this prayer whilst focused on the all-pervading nature of God is imperative to maintaining unification. Mere repetition of these words without such focus is less effective.
